Training for researchers, scientists, and doctoral students – „Citizen Science Ecosystem“

Important | 2025-05-05

We invite researchers and doctoral students interested in citizen science methodology and its application in research to participate in remote training sessions taking place in June.

During the training, participants will learn what citizen science is, how to initiate and successfully engage in citizen science projects, and how collaboration between scientists and the public is developed. You will also be introduced to platforms designed for citizen science initiatives and explore practical examples of such projects.
The training will be conducted by Professor Eglė Butkevičienė from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities at Kaunas University of Technology. Professor Butkevičienė is one of the founding members of the Lithuanian Citizen Science Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA).

The training sessions, entitled “Citizen Science Ecosystem”, will be held on June 9 and 10 at two different times – in the morning from 10:00 AM and in the afternoon from 1:00 PM – to allow participants to join at a time that is most convenient for them. The sessions will be conducted online via the Zoom platform (a participation link will be sent to all registered attendees). Each session will last for 3 academic hours. Participants will receive certificates of attendance.

Training dates, times, and registration:

The training for researchers is carried out as part of the project “Development of Citizen Science Activities at Kaunas University of Technology”, funded by the European Union under the “NextGenerationEU” initiative.
