On 17-20 June, KTU Library staff member Aistė Pranckutė participated in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Week at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense. The event focused on the main themes of the event: promoting sustainability ideas, developing sustainable services and promoting citizen science activities in libraries.
Representatives from the University of Southern Denmark and the University Library, as well as specialists from the Odense Public Library shared their knowledge on how to create sustainable environments and services, how to develop a conscious consumer culture at the university and in the library, and how to enhance public engagement in science activities. Presentations were also given by librarians from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), Lund University Library (Sweden), University of Tartu (Estonia) and Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania).
Aistė Pranckutė not only presented the university and the library, but also shared the work done to promote citizen science activities at KTU and the results achieved in the frame of the LibOCS project. The self-learning course in English “Citizen Science for Librarians”, developed together with the LibOCS project partners, attracted much attention from the librarians from Denmark, Austria, Greece, France, Belgium and other European countries.
During the four-day event, participants not only shared their countries’ practices and experiences, actively discussed and exchanged ideas, but also networked for possible future cooperation.
