Important | 2023-11-16

On 20 November at 4 p.m. we invite you to the opening of Beata Kurkul’s exhibition “Fighting Ukraine” at Kaunas University of Technology Campus library (Studentų str. 48). During the presentation, the author will talk more about artificial intelligence used in her work.

Registration for the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition will showcase works created from 2014, when the first phase of this terrible war began, to the present. Some of the works reflect motifs from Ukrainian mythology, which have taken on a new sound since 24 February 2022, others are portraits of real soldiers, and still others depict events. These works are united by the unwavering desire of Ukrainians to live and defend their nation, land, language and culture.

The main working tools are a graphic tablet and Adobe Photoshop, as well as traditional tools (pencils, markers, etc.).

The author of the exhibition is Beata Kurkul, a Lithuanian citizen who has been living and working in Kiev, Ukraine since 2008. Together with the Ukrainian Border Service, numerous exhibitions have been organised at various Ukrainian border units, including at the war zone in Mariupol (2016). Beata has visited the war zone several times.

Beata Kurkul’s exhibition “Fighting Ukraine” will be on display at the KTU University Campus Library until 24 January 2024.
