On May 18–22, Dr. Gintarė Tautkevičienė, Director of KTU Library, and Aistė Pranckutė, Head of the Research Information Department, participated in the Erasmus+ staff mobility week organized by the Vienna University Library. The five-day event brought together academic library professionals from Italy, France, Hungary, Croatia, Switzerland, Poland, and Lithuania.
One of the priority areas of the Vienna University Library is research data management. The library coordinates the Austrian Social Sciences Data Archive (AUSSDA), develops a network of data stewards within the university, and thus ensures timely and high-quality support for researchers at all stages—from the preparation of data management plans to the preparation of data for long-term preservation.
During the mobility week, specialists from the Vienna University Library presented the university’s open science and open access policies, infrastructure for storing research results and data, the application of bibliometric analysis in research evaluation, opportunities for developing data steward competencies, and other topics relevant to academic libraries.
Participants actively shared their professional experience and best practices from their respective countries. Participation in the Erasmus+ mobility week not only provided new ideas and insights but also created opportunities to establish and strengthen international connections with library professionals from other countries.
