Important | 2026-10-16

How can public participation enrich scientific research and enhance its societal impact? What opportunities does citizen science offer to researchers?

To mark International Open Access Week, we invite you to join an online event showcasing citizen science initiatives at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), experiences from research projects, and approaches to community engagement in research. The event will feature presentations and reflections from Prof. Dr. Eglė Butkevičienė, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jurgita Jurkevičienė, and Lecturer Laura Jankauskaitė-Jurevičienė.

Representatives of the KTU Citizen Science Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gintarė Tautkevičienė and Aistė Pranckutė, will introduce the Center’s activities and discuss the services available to researchers interested in developing citizen science projects. The event will also highlight services available to researchers and provide an opportunity to discuss what forms of support, infrastructure, and resources are needed to successfully develop and implement citizen science projects.
