Important | 2025-06-16

We want to inform you that the latest 2024 bibliometric indicators (CiteScore, CiteScore Quartile, SNIP, and SJR) have been released for publications indexed in the Scopus (Elsevier) database. These indicators are also available in the national repository eLABa.

The Scopus CiteScore indicator represents the average number of citations received per document published in a journal over the past four years. It is calculated by dividing the total number of citations received in four years by the total number of documents published in the same period.

Key highlights of the Scopus CitesScore 2024 release:

  • Expanded coverage: CiteScore 2024 has been calculated for 31,138 publications, including 1,973 journals receiving a CiteScore for the first time.
  • More open access journals: Scopus indexes 7,961 open access journals, 55 of which rank first in their subject category. This highlights the growing importance of open access publishing.
  • Diverse subject categories: CiteScore covers 334 subject categories, enabling impact analysis across a wide range of disciplines.
  • Growing journal quality: CiteScore 2024 identifies 11,826 journals with a CiteScore but without an Impact Factor (a metric from Web of Science by Clarivate Analytics) in 2023. Among these, 424 are ranked in the top 10% of sources.
  • Multilingual support: 24% of journals indexed in Scopus are published in languages other than English. Scientific publications in over 50 world languages provide a global perspective on research impact.
  • Growing research impact: The CiteScore of 649 journals increased by 100% or more from 2023 to 2024, reflecting the dynamic nature of research influence.
