We would like to inform the research community that all Article Processing Charge (APC) vouchers provided by the publishers American Chemical Society (ACS) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) for open access publishing in hybrid journals have now been fully used. As a result, until the end of 2025, it is no longer possible to publish articles in open access under these agreements without incurring APC fees.
Negotiations are currently underway with the publishers to establish more favorable conditions for authors to publish in open access in ACS Web Editions journals starting in 2026.
At present, unlimited open access publishing opportunities in hybrid journals are available through the physical sciences database IOP Publishing and the multidisciplinary database SAGE Publications.
