KTU organized international conference on Open Science and Research Data Management

Open science as a global movement makes a great influence on research transformation, research methods organization, research results dissemination, sharing and collaboration processes. Open access to research results ensures immediate access to cutting-edge research innovation, knowledge application in practice, increases transparency, enables wider dissemination to research results, enhance exchange between disciplines.

On the 29th of October, in  Kaunas University of Technology Santaka valley international conference Open Science and the Management of A Cultural Change took place. This event organized as a part of international initiative Focus on Open Science, which is organized from 2015. Event was organized by Scientific Knowledge Services (SKS), KTU Library, Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library eLABa, LIBER ir UCL Press.

In the event researchers, research administrators and representatives of academic libraries discussed questions related to European Open Science Cloud, competences needed for research data management, changes in research communication and similar open science related questions.

Representatives from different organizations gave presentations. Speakers from European Future Innovation System Centre (EFIS), Delft University of Technology, GoFAIROpen Knowledge MapsElsevierSKS , Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, Research Council of Lithuania and KTU presented open science policies, activities and shared experience in the fields related to open science.
