EOSC EU Node Access Policy Update

Important | 2025-07-04

Update of the EOSC EU Node (EOSC – European Open Science Cloud, EU – European Commission) access policy – effective from 30 May 2025.

The EOSC EU Node is taking a major leap forward!
After six months of enabling cutting-edge research across Europe, we are excited to unveil an updated User Access Policy that makes accessing EOSC services simpler, fairer, and more powerful.

What is the EOSC EU Node?
It is a platform primarily dedicated to supporting multidisciplinary and transnational research, promoting the use of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data and ancillary services in Europe and beyond. In this environment, researchers will find easily accessible tools and the necessary support to plan, execute, disseminate and evaluate, individually or collaboratively, their research workflows and results across the EOSC ecosystem.

EOSC EU Node – the basis for federation development
The platform also supports the development of the EOSC federation, following the principles of the “system of systems” architecture for federated research infrastructures. The aim is to develop a technical and administrative roadmap and an interoperability framework that will allow the establishment of new potential infrastructure nodes. The EOSC EU Node can be considered as the first EOSC federation module at European level supported by the European Commission as an operational production platform.
