Clarivate Analytics Releases Journal Citation Reports 2025 Edition

Important | 2025-06-20

Clarivate Analytics has announced the release of the 2025 edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), presenting bibliometric indicators for journals based on data from the year 2024. The latest JCR metrics are already available in the eLABa repository.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), a key tool for evaluating journal citation performance. First published in 1975, JCR introduced the Journal Impact Factor (JIF), based on citation data from 1974, and has since become an essential resource in academic publishing.

The 2025 edition of the Journal Citation Reports includes JIF metrics for 22,249 journals, covering 254 scientific categories and published across 111 countries. The methodology for calculating the Journal Impact Factor is continuously refined to ensure greater transparency and neutrality.

You can learn more about the updates in the 2025 JCR release in the official announcement by Clarivate Analytics.

We also invite you to register for a webinar on June 25 at 16:00 (local time), where representatives from the database will present the 2025 JCR release and discuss the related changes.
