Final Degree Projects: similarity check in the Turnitin system and uploading to eLABa repository

Checking your Final Degree Project (FP) for plagiarism in the Turnitin system (on the Moodle platform)

  1. The Final Degree Projects must be checked for plagiarism in the Turnitin system that is part of the Moodle.
  2. The Projects are submitted to the Turnitin system via the Task on the Moodle course;
  3. Students may pre-check similarity before making the final submission to the supervisor.
  4. After submitting the project for the pre-check, a similarity report is generated; it can be viewed by both the supervisor and the student.

Uploading your Final Degree Project to eLABa repository

Logging in

  1. Access the eLABa repository at https://talpykla.elaba.lt and choose Submit to repository.
  2. Select your institution from the drop-down menu: Kaunas University of Technology.
  3. Log in with your KTU single sign-on (username / password).

Important!

To avoid common mistakes, please note the following:

  1. The first word of the title of the Project (in both English and Lithuanian) must be capitalised and the rest in lower case (unless the title contains a proper noun).
  2. Access status in the repository must be selected in accordance to the grade of the Final Project:
    •  The Bachelor’s Projects and Professional Studies’ Projects graded 9 or 10 – access status “Only available in the institution’s intranet”, restriction period – 99 years.
    • The project will be available only to members of the University community;
    • The Bachelor’s Projects and Professional Studies’ Projects graded 5–8 – access status “Unavailable”, restriction period – 99 years;
    • The Master’s Projects graded 9 or 10 – access status “Freely available online”. The access status “Only available in the institution’s intranet” or “Unavailable” can be selected, in which case the maximum restriction period can be 2 years, after the end of the restriction period the project becomes publicly available online;
    • The Master’s Projects graded 7 or 8 – access status “Only available in the institution’s intranet”, restriction period – 99 years. The project will be available only to members of the University community;
    • The Master’s Projects graded 5 or 6 – access status “Unavailable”, restriction period – 99 years.
