Webinar “How to manage OJS through containers”

Important | 2025-10-31

EIFL (Electronic Information for Libraries) is organizing a free online seminar in English that will explain how to manage the OJS (Open Journal Systems) system using containers.

Containers are a way to “package” software so that it works the same in any environment. This greatly facilitates installation, updates, and troubleshooting.

During the seminar, participants will be introduced step by step to the installation of OJS using common tools such as Docker and Docker Compose:

  • Docker is a tool that allows you to run OJS in a separate, tidy “container.”
  • Docker Compose – a tool that allows you to manage the entire OJS system (with its database and other components) at once.

Participants will also learn how to ensure the security of the OJS system, perform backups, and apply practical tips for daily maintenance.

Speaker: Marc Bria Ramírez – Autonomous University of Barcelona (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
Date and time: November 5 (Wednesday) at 11 a.m.
