During the Open Access Week (which runs from 20–24 October this year), KTU library is inviting the community to take part in events and training sessions on open science, research data and results, and how we can all work together to share knowledge.
Every year in October, Open Access Week encourages the public and academic communities to talk about issues related to access to scientific knowledge and authorship. This is a great opportunity to connect the global movement for open knowledge sharing with policy changes and social issues that affect people worldwide.
This year’s theme, “Who Owns Our Knowledge?”, focuses on how communities can keep control of the knowledge they have created. Commercial publishers have long dominated research outputs and knowledge. Now the research community is invited to reflect on ownership of scientific knowledge and its access to both the academic community and society.
