We invite researchers, students, librarians, and all members of the public interested in citizen science to participate in the international webinar “Collaboration and participation perspectives for open research in the Baltics: researchers, citizens, librarians as partners”.
The webinar will be held during the annual International Open Access Week and will provide participants with a broader understanding of the importance and benefits of involving citizens in the open science process. Partnerships between researchers, citizens and memory institutions enable the development of an Open Science culture and the growth of the knowledge society, as well as saving the time and energy needed for large-scale research projects.
One of the main objectives of the LibOCS project is to find out how libraries can contribute to science through their competencies and services. In this seminar, we will share the results of two studies carried out by the LibOCS project, in which Baltic researchers, volunteers, and memory professionals have participated.
The webinar is organized by the LibOCS (University Libraries Enhancing Academic-Society Connection through Citizen Science in the Baltic States) team, whose partners are the University Library of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology, Kaunas University of Technology, Vytautas Magnus University, the University of Latvia, Web2Learn and Immer Besser GmbH.
